Located just outside the world famous Monteverde Cloud Forest, sits a family owned farm which we received twenty five years ago as a pasture field. San Luis was founded back in 1917 by our own family ancestors who came from the central valley in search of new lands, 90% of the land was then owned by one same person from a different family. In the other hand, families were growing and had very few land available to live and work in.

A Quaker community from the USA saw this issue and bought a big piece of land and donated it to 25 different families. We were one of those lucky families and we feel very thankful for that!

Back then, we started planting wind braking trees which we had no idea would become home to many birds and mammals like monkeys!
